Six students — Vod Nordstrom, Oregon Shawcross, Josie Jones, Kingsley Owen, JP Pembersley, and Howard McGregor — are freshmen (save for second year Howard) at Manchester Medlock University. Having applied late to accommodation, they live in a shared, off-campus house in Whalley Range rather than the halls of residence.

From the moment they first meet, JP, Kingsley, Josie, Howard, Vod and Oregon are destined to be housemates. Away from home for the first time, on the brink of adult life, the new students are about to discover who they really are as they run the whole gamut of appalling behaviour and terrible errors of judgment familiar to anyone who's ever experienced one of life's great rites of passage.

Series 3
JP, Kingsley, Josie, Howard, Vod and Oregon are all back in Hartnell Avenue and raring to go. JP is promptly throwing himself, headfirst, into a second year ceremonial mission to sleep with a fresher; accompanied somewhat willingly but not altogether skilfully by his faithful wingman, Howard. Meanwhile, there’s a brand new housemate in the form of genuine fresher and smoking fine filly, Candice. Homeschooled and as yet unsullied by student-dom this first year is about to make an impact on the rest of the house, as they set out to show her just how cool they really are.
