Sushama Shiromanee, born in Mumbai, Maharashtra, is a trailblazing figure in Indian cinema. A multifaceted talent, she has made significant contributions to the industry as an actress, producer, writer, and director. She has acted in 34 films, produced 9 films, written 9 screenplays, and directed 4 films. Additionally, she has also distributed 2 Hindi films, further showcasing her diverse involvement in the world of cinema. Her contributions extend to national platforms, having served as a board member and Chairperson of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), and as a member of the Oscar Film Selection Committee, National Film Awards jury, and Panorama Awards Screening Committee. Known as one of the boldest and most daring personalities in the industry, Sushama Shiromanee has made her mark as an actress, producer, writer, director, and distributor. Her work across Hindi, Marathi, and Gujarati films has resulted in several super hits and Golden Jubilee films that helped revitalize the traditionally male-dominated Marathi film industry. Her vision and determination earned her the prestigious Chitrapati V. Shantaram Jeevangaurav Puraskar (Lifetime Achievement Award), presented by the Government of Maharashtra. She also manages Real Touch Studio Pvt. Ltd., a respected post-production studio. In 2024, under her leadership as Senior Vice President of the IMPPA International Committee, IMPPA made its first official appearance at the 77th and 78th Cannes Film Festival, in collaboration with the CII India Pavilion—marking a historic moment for Indian producers on the international stage. That same year, at the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, IMPPA introduced the innovative concept of floating booths on yachts, pioneering a creative new approach to global film marketing and cultural exchange.
