Nishitama, Tokyo, Japan
Shinichi Ogishima, born on October 7, 1946, in Gokazuka Town, Nishitama District, Tokyo (now part of Akiruno City), and passed away on November 11, 2004, was a distinguished Japanese actor and voice actor. Born as the third son and middle child in a family of five siblings, including two sisters. His family ran a bicycle shop. In 1968, he joined the theatrical troupe "劇団四季" (The Shiki Theatre Company) and made his stage debut in the same year with the production "解ってたまるか" ("Wakattetamaru ka"). The producer of "隠密剣士" ("Hidden Swordsmen"), Yoji Hashimoto, noted, "At first, he lacked skills in fight choreography, but his good physical coordination allowed him to handle it well." His reputation at Toei Kyoto Studio was also positive. Around the autumn of 2003, he was diagnosed with a rare and hard-to-detect form of bile duct cancer, which is known for its difficulty in early detection. He underwent treatment for this condition, but unfortunately, he passed away at 1:50 AM on November 11, 2004, at the age of 58.
