Highland Dale has one of the most extensive filmography of any animal in Hollywood. Highland Dale was living on a farm in Missouri when he was discovered by Ralph McCutcheon, a trainer of animal motion picture stars. Mr. McCutcheon sensed Highland Dale’s potential for movie fame. One of his first roles was on the famous television series, Fury, which was so popular that many people began referring to him as “Fury” instead of “Highland Dale”. Highland Dale was 26 months old, he starred in one of the many versions of “Black Beauty”. He continued acting for the silver screen in “Gypsy Colt”, “Giant”, “Wild is the Wind” and “The Return of Wildfire”. Highland Dale won Pasty Awards, which are given to the animals as Oscars are to people. Hie won awards for his roles in “Wild is the Wind”, “Gypsy Colt” and “Fury”.
