Thirty-five years in the life of Max, his best friend Sal and a woman they both adore, Lyla. The trio stumble through mandatory but seemingly unfulfilling entanglements, at weddings, funerals, hospitals, eateries, divorce courts and the tool shed. A deadpan fable about time sneaking up on and swerving right around us.

I was expecting not to like this movie. Everything about it is not my style. This just as easily could have been a high school play than a movie. Nothing about it is a laugh-out-loud comedy, more like ha-that's-true-about-life. Having said all that, I couldn't stop watching it from start to finish. This is a comic strip summary of life events from a Sunday morning newspaper. It's that sample. The highs and lows are intentionally not realistic. 7/10 for painting a simple film of my life and so many others. It'll likely mellow people out for taking the highs & lows in life too seriously. Blink and it's over.
