**What's eaten is what's served** Prolific local actor Alessandro Perrella, also known as Alex Perry, turned to directing starting in 1989, at the end of the Golden Age of adult cinema. His vast knowledge of independent and B-movies led him in 1995 to successfully direct a pair of consecutive projects called "Betty Blue," two parts shot in digital format, but with a staging and talent for exposition more suited to emulsion. The subsequent dubbing into Italian, over an already original Italian film, occurred because the sound management team and audio equipment were not included in the final budget, something highly inappropriate, as the dialogue barely matches the speeches of the actors, all of Italian origin, including the delicious modern porn star Anita Rinaldi, who gives absolutely everything here. Someone might ask, "Is what they say important in a film like this?" My answer is definitely yes. Because, "Betty Blue" is a small golden surplus in which the plot still provided the unease of a story sprinkled with erotic morbidity and explicit sex. Let's see how: Betty (Elisabeth) Hutton, alias Betty Blue in her literary projects, is a budding novelist stuck in a creative crisis, and feels pressured by her editor, whom she obviously sleeps with, which generates a toxic relationship from which she flees. When Betty goes to visit Giovanna, her best friend, at the boarding school where she studies, she learns that her father, a very wealthy Florentine marquis, has just died. But Giovanna's relationship with her family has been nonexistent for a decade, so she asks Betty to go to the family reunion pretending to be her, since with their physical resemblance and the passage of time, she could look the part. Between sexual affairs with the servants, "adulterous" flirtations with the family, copious anal sex, and generous creamy facials, Betty settles comfortably into the mansion, only to discover that the old marquis may have been the target of a criminal conspiracy to seize his legacy. Betty's job will force her to pull up her panties and get to work solving a murder case that could also be the plot of a future novel.
